This course will provide students with opportunities to learn the meaning and systems of special needs education and the realities of children in need of special support and support provided for them, and to acquire knowledge and behavior required in special needs education.

Lesson4: Intellectual disability 2 (lesson methods for children with intellectual disability)(Chikurinji)
Lesson5: Language disorder(Kawai)
Lesson6: Physical disability,  health impairment(Funabashi)
Lesson7: Developmental disorder 1 (learning disorder,  attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder)(Wakamatsu)
Lesson8: Developmental disorder 2 (high functioning autism, Asperger's disorder)(Wakamatsu)
Lesson9: Autism education, emotional disorder(Wakamatsu)
Lesson10: Visual impairments 1 (education for the blind)(Mori)

Attendance at the exam will be checked with student ID. Please make sure to bring your student ID to the exam. Lesson order is subject to change.

Lesson1-15: Review what you learned after every lesson, using handouts and lecture notebooks. 
Requirements This course corresponds to the’ mental development and learning process of infants, children, and school children’ under the Teachers License Act. 
Grading Method Students will be evaluated based on attendance and exams. 
Practical Experience Experienced  
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Mr. Chikurinji who has worked at a special school, special support class, and board of education will have lesson 3 and 4.
Dr. Kawai who have experiences of working at public schools and university in the United States as a speech-language pathologist will have lesson 5.
Dr. Ujima who has worked for 12 years at a school for the blind will have lesson 11 and 12.
They introduce practical contents based on their experiences. 
Message For making a list of participants, don't be absent from first class. After the 3rd class, there is a possibility that seat for each student will be designated. 
Other A message and handouts for this course may be given through the message board of the MOMIJI. Make sure that you can receive information on the MOMIJI by email.
