  If you want to have a teaching certificate, then you must take this or another course in Japanese Constitution as one of the 8 compulsory subjects, that the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology require all would-be educators to study. 
Expected Outcome  You will be able to objectively think the constitutional system and take a part in politics as a independent citizen.

You will study various interpretations and functions of Japanese Constitution at higher education level.
Teacher will explain one precedent each class, referring to case facts, related judgements, institutions and doctorines. 
Class Schedule lesson1 Introduction: Constitutionalism, Human Rights, Freedom from and Liberty to Government, Textbook.
lesson2  Part 1  Right to Self-determination, general statement.
         Case 1 Liberty of the Disable: Refusal to have anyone read for the vocal impaired member in Nakatsugawa city assembly.
lesson3  Case 3  Liberty of Homosexual Persons: disapproval of lodgment for a gay and lesbian group at the Tokyo Metropolitan Youth House in Fuchu city.
lesson4  Case 6  Freedom to Decline Medical Treatment and/or Blood Infusion: the case of a liver cancer operation in Tokyo University Hospital.
lesson5  Case 8  Freedom to Appreciate Pornography: customs inspection at Haneda Airport.
lesson6  Part 2  Births of New Human Rights, general statement.
         Case 10  Right to Privacy: refusal to take part in the Basic Resident Register Network (2002. 8. 5. in effect).
lesson7  Case 11  Right to Live Peacefully: prohibitory injunction suit against dispatches of Self-Defense Forces to Iraq battle areas.
lesson8  Case 12  local residents' Rights to Scenery: demanding an injunction against building a high-rise condominium on the University Avenue at Kunitachi city.

lesson13  Case 20  Freedom of Expression: Punishment for trespass against posting antiwar bills into each door mail slot at housings for Self-Defense Forces workers in Tachikawa city.
lesson14  Case 22  Right to live: submission of the unconstitutionality against the abolition of benefit money added for the elderly.
lesson15  Case 24  Right to vote: all or partial denial of polling for Japanese nationals living abroad.

  You must take a final examination (in essay style) at the 16th class during the testing period, in order to get full marks 100.
  And You can submit search reports twice on the Bb9 for classmates, in order to acquire 20 points (10*2 times) at most as bonuses.

Preparation and
Review
As long as you can use times (at least 2 hours in preparation and 2 hours in review of every class), you may well read the textbook and related materials. 
Requirements No limitation. But take notice that your knowledge at the secondary school level would be useless. Let's learn the different opinions and facts as new knowledge now and here.  
Grading Method 100 points in a final essay examination (explanation of some technical phrases and cases).
And 20 points from 2 public reports (investigation and clarification of your doubts or unclear points) as bonuses. 
Message We will increasingly take part in the operation of courts, since this century judicial reformation became entirely.
