 To develop and fulfill contents of civics education, has students acquire ability to understand political relationship between judiciary system and social system theoretically and practically through reading of U.S. federal supreme court non-fiction and improves capabilities as civics teacher and teaching contents development ability significantly.
 For execution of legal education, it’s very important to obtain framework of broad recognition on legal system.  
Class Schedule   To be evaluated with each lesson's presentation, re-investigation presentation, contents of Q&A session in the class and Bb9.
 If there is any question remained for the key topic, midterm report or term-end report submission may be required for assessment.

  As some U.S. state supreme courts have been covered in the 1st semester, the recently-released non-fiction book on federal supreme court will be read in the 2nd semester. It would be a good comparison in considering Japanese Supreme Court.

Review
 As this course has a small number of students. Every time, preparation for presentation, follow-up investigation after the class, and its reporting are required. Of course, it will contribute to creating part of a thesis or academic conference report because it’s in line with student’s research theme.
 According to Article 15 of Standards for the Establishment of Graduate Schools, “In the standard, 1 credit course must include contents that require 45 hour learning” by refereeing to Article 21 section 2 of Standards for Establishment of Universities. So, in order to have 2 credits, be sure to perform 60-hour “learning” in addition to 30-hour lessons. 
Requirements  Subject area "civics"-related class.
  Depending on student’s interest and intention, course correction can be done within the judiciary system. Specifically, themes such as “U.S. state supreme court and popularly-elected judge’s ruling action” “reality of U.S. federal supreme court” “theoretical criminology” and “practice case of direct democracy in U.S.” are included in the syllabus of other classes the instructor is responsible for. Or students can chose documents on practice of lawyers and prosecutors.
 As all of them are books written in English, the most appropriate book needs to be selected according to student’s interest and area of research. 
Grading Method   Students to be assessed by class attendance, comprehension of English documents, reports and the contents of discussions.  Those who are absent 5 times, will not pass.  Two times of tardiness is equivalent to 1 absence.  The class is only 45 minutes long, shortened due to allocated time to breaks and travel.  Students need to be punctual.  
Message   My field of expertise is legal science, in particular, socio-legal study and criminal sociology. Specifically, I am investigating reality of activities by law-related people such as criminal lawyer, judge, and city council members. Also, my scope is expanding such as juvenile problematic behavior, status of juvenile delinquency, and countermeasures.
 I would like to conduct a valuable and tasty class in which students can learn a lot and play a lot but don’t bring any food or drinks into the classroom. In fact, I’m a Class-1 health controlling officer.
