Suggestions on
Preparation and
Review
For every lesson, it’s necessary to prepare for English reading (i.e. unknown words and technical term check) , and investigate unclear points/questions in the class. For English-Japanese dictionary, if you have good internet connection, Eijiro on the Web (http://www.alc.co.jp/) is concise and detailed.
In addition, as this class has 2 credits, at least 90-hour learning is required in total, including 30-hour classes.
Requirements   If students want to take this course, they need to send the e-mail to the instructor for preparing class material. Students who proactively participate in the research presentation and the graduate students who are interested in legal science and legal education are welcome. They are not allowed to bring food or drinks in the classroom (This is like the announcement made before the departure in Hanshin-bus. ) I’m a Class-1 health controlling officer.
Grading Method   Students to be comprehensively assessed by assessment elements such as attendance status, reports and responses to questions, questions to other students' reports and the contents of lectures, discussions, and posting to the class electric bulletin board.   Students will not pass if they are absent 5 times.  The class is only 45 minutes long (elementary school level?), shortened due to time allocated to breaks and travel.  Tardiness is not acceptable.  Two times of tardiness is equivalent to 1 absence.
Message   My field of expertise is legal science, in particular, socio-legal study and criminal sociology. Specifically, I am investigating reality of activities by law-related people such as criminal lawyer, judge, and city council members. Also, my scope is expanding such as juvenile problematic behavior, status of juvenile delinquency, and countermeasures.
