・The abilities and skills to summarize one's own research in reports or academic papers, and to deliver presentations at a seminar or research meetings, and to answer questions.
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
To learn basic knowledge and experimental techniques required in analyses and interpretation of natural environments through laboratory and field studies.
Class Schedule The following subjects will be instructed under "Laboratory Course in Natural Environmental Sciences A".

・Guidance: Preparation for indoor experiments and fieldworks, treatment of materials and data, and theorization of results.
(Chief: 1)
・Analysis of forest ecosystem function: Tree biomass estimation by allometric relationships and programming exercise.
(Nakatsubo, Toda: 2-4)
・Experiment in forest meteorology: A forest mitigates excessive increase in temperature and decrease in humidity under the canopy.
In this experiment, basic meteorological measurements are carried out at a bare soil and at a forest floor to understand the mitigation effects of forest from heat balance components of solar radiation.
(Tsuchiya: 5-7)
・Basic exercises of field surveying.
(Kaibori: 8-11)
・Fundamental laboratory work in function and physiology of the rhizosphere.
(Wazaki, Nakagawa: 12-15)
