授業の目標・概要等	This course aims to introduce students to the concept of international cooperation, pertinent international issues, and the nature and approach of international cooperation. Students are expected to be able to critically assess the nature and approach of international cooperation.
授業計画	Lesson 1 A brief introduction to the course Lesson 2 Introduction to the concept of international cooperation Lesson 3 A short individual presentation on how a selected country is involved in international cooperation Lesson 4 Nature and types of international cooperation Lesson 5 An elaboration of a case presented in Lecture 3, now as a group presentation Lesson 6 Major international issues - Poverty and inequality Lesson 7 A short presentation on poverty and inequality or food security issues in a selected country including the international cooperation initiative to deal with the issue Lesson 8 Major international issues - Food security and nutrition Lesson 9 A short presentation on food security and nutrition issues in a selected country including the role of the World Food Program or Food and Agriculture Organization Lesson 10 Major international issues - Environment (Climate change) Lesson 11 A short presentation on climate change issues relating to either agriculture or energy. Also includes the role of international communities specifically, the world bank (Climate finance and initiatives), UNFCCC (Conference of the Parties, REDD+ - Forest Carbon Partnership Facility) Lesson 12 Major international cooperation initiatives The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development – Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Lesson 13 Student’s presentation on Assignment 1 Lesson 14 Student’s presentation on Assignment 1 (Continue) Lesson 15 Concluding class – sharing of the learning from the course and comments Assignment – Assignment on a role of the selected international cooperation agency on international cooperation – a country case (around 1500 words) - A summary of this course.
