授業の目標・概要等	Environmental issues, such as sustainable energy systems, climate change, and destruction from disasters and conflicts, cannot be solved by a single discipline. There must be sufficient competency to manage, or even initiate, solutions through a multidisciplinary approach. Future global leaders should thus be equipped with, or at least understand, how multidisciplinary perspective and innovation skills can be used to address global issues, including those related to the environment. Environmental Economics and Policy I gave students an opportunity to identify and understand problems in environmental policy and economics through case study method. Meanwhile, Environmental Economics and Policy II will impart skills for formulating policy based on Design Thinking and Innovation Science methodologies. Basic theories and methods from Design Thinking and Innovation Science will be introduced to provide a framework for the development of strategic policies addressing a concrete social issue. For this year's iteration of the introductory course, students will develop competency in applying theories and methods of Design Thinking and Innovation to address the intersections between the environment, armed conflict, global policy decision-making, and civil society participation.
