授業の目標・概要等 This course is intended to generate an understanding of major practices of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and consider how access to and quality of ECCE should be improved in developing countries. It consists of three parts. The first part analyzes the current situation of ECCE in a developing world, with a focus on access expansion. The second part examines quality issues of ECCE by discussing what quality ECCE is like, which ECCE curriculum is most effective, and what kind of evaluation tools are used. The third part looks into the case of ECCE in Japan.
