授業の目標・概要等 This is one of the “must-take” courses for those who wish to work in international cooperation in the future and improve their logical thinking skills. The course aims to provide participants with opportunities to learn primary methods for planning international cooperation projects in education through community participation. In particular, the course focuses on Project Cycle Management (PCM), often employed in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating overseas assistance projects of the Japanese government. Understanding PCM will lay an essential foundation for future practices in international cooperation; for PDM, which is an output produced in a PCM process, is designed based on the “Logical Framework,” often used by many development agencies of overseas assistance. Upon completing this course, participants will acquire the following knowledge and skills: 1) Understanding methods for planning an international cooperation project in education, 2) Understanding the significance of participatory development, and 3) Being able to explain the advantages and disadvantages of the PCM method in comparison with other participatory planning methods.

受講条件等
For registration of this course, students should meet the following two conditions:
1) They should attend all the 8 sessions of the intensive PCM workshop held in person on the weekend of April 20 and 21, 2024; AND
2) They should take the "Fundamental Theory of Practice in International Cooperation in Education II" of the same academic year.
The number of participants is limited to 18. The first priority will be given to 2nd year Master’s students and the rest will be drawn at random.
