授業の目標・概要等 |
This course is intended for master’s course students. It is to inform the application or practice of epidemiology and prevention of diseases to address the public health issues. The overall objectives of the course for students are to: 1. Explain the essential information of epidemiology and describe the importance of epidemiologic studies. 2. Introduce basic concepts and issues of epidemiological methods as well as disease control procedures. 3. Determine the etiologies of and effective preventive measures for communicable and chronic diseases. 4. Expand understanding of disease determinants and disease prevention in local and international settings. 5. Continue the practice of health related English communication skill.
Specific course objectives: After the successful completion of the course students will be able to: 1. Define the components of the epidemiologic triad and techniques of epidemiology, basic statistics, and situation analysis to public health problems. 2. Illustrate the association with the concentrations in exposure, epidemiology, and risk factors in the environmental health. 3. Describe the different modes of violence and injuries in a population and address the preventive strategies. 4. State the epidemiologic approaches to social and behavioral determinants of infectious disease emergence, transmission, pathogenesis and prevention. 5. Focus on diseases and conditions, as well as preventive methods, specific to chronic diseases in Japan. |
