One of the Fundamentals of University Education courses, Introduction to University Education provides an orientation to college/university education for incoming freshmen. 
学習の成果The expected learning outcomes for this course and the Enrichment Seminar (the other Fundamentals of University Education course) are as follows:
1. learning skills for study at the university level and forming a self-driven educational mindset
2. developing the ability to discover issues
3. learning methods for collecting data and resources
4. developing logic and critical thinking
5. improving reading comprehension, expression, and discussion skills
6. understanding rules for college life 
授業の目標・概要等 Develop skills and attitudes necessary for university learning while thinking about what it means to learn at university and clarifying what you want to achieve here. 
授業計画 There is one common class for all students in each School; in some cases, several Schools will share one class.

Chapter 1, 12 will be administered by the School (or in some cases, major programs) and Headquarters for Education; while the other chapters onward will be administered by respective campus center, as indicated below.

教科書・参考書等 For Chapters 1-14, the course materials are made by each Center. These materials will be posted on the moodle Learning Management System—be sure to download them to your laptop before watching class videos or face-to-face classes. Please check the "Introduction to University Education Class Schedule" posted on moodle, for the delivery schedule of the materials.

How to log-in to moodle:
Go to Momiji main page (“top”) > click on moodle (located in the bottom-right of the screen) > click on 広大moodleへログイン > enter your Hiroshima University ID (広大 ID) and password (パスワード)

Look over the materials you have downloaded in advance before watching class videos or face-to-face classes. 
履修上の注意
受講条件等
As the session order will be different according to each School, be sure to check the class schedule in advance.
Chapters 1, 12, and 15, date&time and place to attend are designated.
Please check the "Introduction to University Education Class Schedule" posted on moodle. 
成績評価の基準等 Requirements for Acceptance of Credits:
・Submit the assignments shown in Chapter 1 (administered by each School/major program) and Chapter 2 (Global Career Design Center) by the specified deadline.
・Submit the  pre-check sheet and post-check sheet shown in Chapter 12 by the specified deadline.(administered by each School/major program)
・Pass all Confirmation Tests (Chapters 2-11,13,14) by the specified deadline after watching each of class videos.

Grading:
Confirmation Tests (80%) + Attitude of Participation (20%)
(To evaluate the confirmation test results, the highest scores you obtained in each of chapters will be used. However, scores from the first attempt will be taken into account only when grade S (excellent) is given.)

How to take the Confirmation Tests:
・Go to moodle > click on 2024大学教育入門 (2024 Introduction to University Education) > click on the 確認テスト (Confirmation Test) for the chapter you have completed.
・Each test will consist of 15 questions. 12 or more corrects (full point of 15) are considered passing.
・Tests schedule are provided on "Introduction to University Education Class Schedule" posted on moodle.
・You can take the Confirmation Test as many times as you like during the course period, so make sure to pass all of the Confirmation Test by referring the teaching materials.

Chapter 15, "Global Citizenship" ,faculty members with practical experience in the fields of sports, arts, science, business, etc. will give lectures. They will help you set goals for your future university life through their own experiences.

What lies ahead of you will prove a wonderful experience, where you can learn new things, explore problems from many angles, and create new knowledge. In this class, above all, I would like you to acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills that will help you through it.
