The first one is on the fundamental theory of optimization for mechanical engineering. The second one is the optimization techniques and its engineering applications. The third one is on the optimization problems in elasto-plasticity field such as design optimization for metal forming process, structural design optimization, material parameter identification and so on.In this lecture, special emphasize is placed on the optimization in engineering elasto-plasticity. The first and the second parts of this lecture will be taught by a foreign visiting professor as an intensive course in November. 1. Introduction: optimization problems in mechanical engineering2. PC-projector Perusal of lecture materials and deep consideration about homework. In the class, we sometimes have discussions on the homework subjects. This course is provided in English. Students should have fundamental knowledge of solid mechanics in Mechanical/Civil Engineering. Report, homework, discussion in the class This lecture taught in English is offered for not only international students but also Japanese students. For better understanding, during the class, some short comments in Japanese as well will be provided to Japanese students.
