授業の目標・概要等 *This is a required course for the first-year students in the Department of Integrated Global Studies.
Modern society faces many problems beyond a single academic discipline. How can we resolve such multi-faceted
complex issues?
In this class, students will learn about academic disciplines, research, and interdisciplinary learning/research (how to go
beyond disciplines). Students also learn research methods through a textbook and lectures. IGS’s three study fields and
faculty members’ research themes will also be introduced in the class for students to understand which field the topic they want to study is located in.

日本語で学ぶためのアカデミック・スキルを海外・国内で教えた経験を踏まえ、学際的研究の基礎を身に着ける授業を行う。
 
メッセージ Cross-disciplinary learning and research are the core of the IGS program. We expect students to deepen their understanding of interdisciplinary thinking through the lectures and case studies discussed in class.
 
その他 This class is a compulsory course for the Department of Integrated Global Studies. No absences will be accepted unless there is a special reason.
