Online Seminar: “Satellite Remote Sensing and Cybersecurity in the Marine & Maritime Sector” Applications Now Open! (Apply by July 17) 2026/7/10

Hiroshima University invites undergraduate and graduate students to join an online seminar conducted in English together with students from five European partner universities (Italy, Austria, Sweden, Spain, and Germany).

The seminar features two lectures:
・ Seeing the Earth and Oceans from Space: An Introduction to Remote Sensing
・ Recent Developments in Cyber Security in the Maritime Sector

Participants will learn the fundamentals of satellite remote sensing, its applications in marine and ocean observation, and recent developments in maritime cybersecurity. The seminar also provides an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with students from European partner universities, broaden your international perspective, and improve your English communication skills.

Why join?
・ No specialized knowledge is required.
・ Meet and discuss with students from Europe in English.
・ Open to students from all academic disciplines.

Participants who complete the seminar will receive a digital badge (expected to be issued around October or November).

Please note that participants are required to complete a short pre-seminar assignment (watching a pre-recorded video of approximately 15 minutes and reading approximately 10 pages of English materials). Details will be provided later.
