【コース概要】
　広島大学は、海洋・海事分野でのAI活用による持続可能な発展や環境保全に取り組むため、文部科学省「大学の世界展開力強化事業」に採択されました。本事業の一環として、EUの5大学と連携し、「AIを活用した海洋経済安全保障および持続可能性に関する次世代リーダー育成プログラム」を実施しています。
　本サマーコースでは、スウェーデン・マルメ市の世界海事大学（WMU）において、海洋・海事分野におけるビッグデータやAIの活用事例を学びます。講義やグループワーク、現地研修を通じて、持続可能な海洋開発や海事ビジネスへの理解を深めます。マルメでの文化訪問やコペンハーゲンへの2日間の研修も予定しています。
　関連分野の大学院生であれば専門を問わず参加可能です。広島大学から5名、EU大学から10名の参加を予定しています。

Summer Course “AI Applications in Maritime and Ocean Studies”

Eligibility:
(1) Graduate students currently enrolled at Hiroshima University
(2) Motivated to participate in discussions in English (TOEIC 680+ recommended)
(3) Must be able to attend the entire program
*International students may also participate; however, visa arrangements must be made individually.
Capacity:
Up to 5 students (Selection will be conducted if applications exceed capacity)
Participation Fee:
JPY 250,000–300,000 (Estimated, subject to change)

Course Overview:
   Hiroshima University was selected for the MEXT “Inter-University Exchange Project” to promote sustainable development and environmental protection through AI applications in maritime and ocean sectors. As part of this initiative, Hiroshima University collaborates with five EU universities to implement the “Training Program for Next-Generation Leaders in AI in Maritime Economic Security and Sustainability.”
   This summer course will be held at the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmö, Sweden. Participants will learn about applications of big data and AI in maritime and ocean-related fields. Through lectures, group work, and field excursions, students will gain practical insights into sustainable maritime development and maritime business. The program also includes cultural visits in Malmö and a two-day study trip to Copenhagen.
   Graduate students from a wide range of related fields are welcome. Hiroshima University will send 5 students, and 10 students from EU universities are expected to participate.
