In today's society, where AI is rapidly penetrating into all fields, there is a need to enhance “AI literacy”. In collaboration with three U.S. universities, the Hiroshima University will hold a summer program to study the advantages and disadvantages of AI and its impact on various fields in society. Students will form joint Japan-U.S. student teams, engage in discussions based on a theme, and take on the challenge of planning and formulating a plan to implement AI in society and solve social issues using AI, and make a presentation on the final day. In this program, students can also learn about examples of AI implementation through company visits and lectures by practitioners. By working with students from diverse backgrounds in Japan and the U.S., the program is expected to improve cross-cultural communication. Students from any department or graduate school are eligible to apply. In addition, we welcome applicants who can actively communicate with American students, for example, by introducing Japanese culture to them.
